Privacy
RTSP.cam is built privacy-first. We store as little as possible, and what we do store is encrypted at rest.
Free playback
The free "try it" player on the home page does not require an account. The RTSP URL you enter is used only to relay the live stream to your browser for the duration of playback. It is not written to our database.
Accounts and cameras
- Your email address is stored encrypted (AES-GCM) and indexed with a blind index — a raw database dump cannot reveal it.
- Camera RTSP URLs (which contain credentials) are stored encrypted and are only ever decrypted to serve a stream you requested.
- Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never in plaintext.
Sharing
When you share a camera, we issue a signed, time-limited token. Anyone with the link can view that single stream until the token expires. You choose the lifetime, and you can stop sharing by deleting the camera.
Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies. Your login token is kept in your browser's local storage and sent only to our API.
Acceptable use
RTSP.cam is a tool for watching and sharing video from cameras you own or are authorised to use. By using the service you agree not to stream, relay, embed or share any content that:
- is illegal in your country or in the viewer's country, or infringes anyone's rights;
- contains sexual or pornographic material of any kind — and above all any material involving minors, which we report to the authorities;
- shows, advertises or sells weapons, ammunition, explosives or drugs;
- violates anyone's privacy: cameras pointed at other people's homes, bathrooms, changing rooms or other private spaces, or filming people without the notice or consent required by law;
- rebroadcasts sports events, TV channels, films, concerts or any other content you don't hold the rights to;
- relates to war or armed conflict: military positions, movements of troops or equipment, critical infrastructure, combat footage, propaganda or calls to violence;
- promotes terrorism, extremism, hatred, violence or self-harm, or is used for harassment, stalking or fraud.
Camera owners are responsible for complying with local laws on video surveillance and personal data, including informing people that an area is being filmed.
Enforcement and reporting
We may, without prior notice, stop any stream, revoke share links, suspend or delete accounts and block access when we believe these rules are broken or when the law requires it. We cooperate with lawful requests from the authorities and may preserve and disclose the data we hold when legally required. To report abuse, contact us or write to support@rtsp.cam with a link to the stream — we review every report.
Disclaimer
RTSP.cam is a technical relay: we do not host, pre-screen or moderate the video that passes through the service and have no control over what a camera shows. All video content is the sole responsibility of the user who connects the camera or shares the link, and that user is fully liable for its legality.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RTSP.cam and its operators are not liable for content transmitted by users, for its use by third parties, or for any direct or indirect damage arising from the use of — or inability to use — the service. You agree to indemnify RTSP.cam against any claims arising from content you stream or share, or from your breach of these rules.
